Charity Color Run ‘Kids Helping Kids’ for the Seneca County House of Concern
Seneca Falls Recreation & Parks has partnered with the Seneca County House of Concern for two years to host the community charity one mile Color Run.
The food insecurity rate in Seneca County is around 11%. This means 1,000’s of people, including many children, are going to bed hungry every night. The idea for the event is to raise awareness, help our neighbors with food insecurity and strengthen our community.
In 2017 approximately 50 runners (mostly children and a few adults) registered for the event. Participation increased to over 60 runners in 2018! Fun was had by all both years with t-shirts provided to those who preregistered and sunglasses for all to protect their eyes. Ice pops, fruit and water were provided when the run was over.
Thank you to all who have participated in our annual Color Runs. We hope to see you all again in 2019! Bring your friends and family and help support our friends and neighbors in need.
