Please help Seneca County House of Concern CASH IN! Seneca County House of Concern is the first beneficiary of del Lago Resort & Casino’s new Community Cash In program. Anticipation is building, come be part of the fun and giving by donating your TiTo vouchers to Seneca County House of Concern.
TiTo vouchers are, Ticket-in, ticket out (TITO) a slip of paper issued from slot machines with a barcode indicating the amount of money represented. These can in turn be redeemed for cash or donated to Seneca County House of Concern charity via the designated drop boxes located throughout the casino floor.
The giving begins November 1st, 2018 and runs through January 31st, 2018. To participate all a customer at del Lago Casino has to do is drop their TiTo Voucher in a dedicated drop box located throughout the casino floor. These donations will be forwarded to Seneca County House of Concern.
This year, the Seneca County House of Concern celebrates its 49th year in service to Seneca County. The organization’s primary goal at inception was to help neighbors in need, and that continues to be its goal today. Unfortunately, the need continues with the organization providing food for an average of 400 families every month.
Remember, with your support of del Lago’s Community Cash In program, you are helping to feed the hungry in Seneca County.
The mission of the Seneca County House of Concern is to help those in need with basic necessities such as food, clothes and household items and to treat everyone with dignity and respect. The organization has been a source of assistance for people in difficult situations for over 49 years, feeding minds with knowledge, stomachs with food and hearts with hope. THE MOBILE FOOD PANTRY
Once a month Foodlink brings fresh produce, dairy, and bread products to distribute to anyone who could use a little extra food. All are welcome. There is no income, age or residency requirement and there is no cost to you. Please bring your own sturdy bags. The pantry hours are from 2:30 to 4:30
Also please be courteous to our neighbors. Be mindful of parking signs, remember other businesses are still open and do not park on private property.
The last mobile food pantry for 2019 is on December 11
Thank you Kirk Casey American Legion Post 366 for your Feed the Future food drive donations. Providing breakfast food for children is an important element in battling food insecurity in our neighborhoods. “Feed the Future” is one of two annual food drives by Post 366, with this drive focusing on breakfast foods and is held purposely just before school gets out for those kids that won’t be getting breakfast at school. Post 366’s continued support and the generosity of all who donated to the food drive is very much appreciated. Thank you!

65 years ago, a talented young dental lab technician named Angelo Bonafiglia opened his own small laboratory in Auburn, NY—unknowingly setting the course for successful dental technicians for decades to come. Consisting of Angelo and just two employees, BonaDent® was principally a denture lab, serving only a handful of local dentists. Upon request of the Board of Directors, State Senator Pam Helming and Seneca Falls Supervisor Greg Lazzaro visited the Seneca County House of Concern on Thursday, March 1, 2018. They were invited to tour the facilities to get a sense of the organization’s mission in assisting those with food insecurity and to demonstrate the need for assistance in maintaining the infrastructure in order to continue to support those in need in Seneca County.
Take the 40 day challenge of giving. If you observe the yearly tradition of Lent, perhaps you are considering what you can give up. Or even if you don’t, maybe you plan to start spring cleaning and decluttering soon. Or it can also be as simple as giving 40 items in 40 days.
Each day take one item and set it aside to donate. Or if you are feeling more ambitious, pick an area of your home each day and declutter a few shelves in a cupboard, look through a drawer or your closet and pull out items you don’t really need or won’t use.
A few other options are to pick up a few items each time you go to the store. Make a donation jar and collect your change for 40 days. You could also hold a 40 day food drive at your place of work.
What can you put in your donation boxes? Articles of gently used clothing, unused kitchen utensils or dishes, an unopened bottle of shampoo or tube of toothpaste, a jar of tomato sauce or even an extra cake or muffin mix pulled from your pantry.
These are all things that can be donated to the Seneca County House of Concern and are always needed, especially personal hygiene products. Also, a special treat such as a cake mix or brownie mix is appreciated because it’s a nice and unexpected treat for our clients to receive near a holiday or if we know they have an upcoming birthday.
Grab a box or a bag and start the 40 day challenge today to benefit the Seneca County House of Concern! Giving is a great gift to yourself and for others.
Planning is underway for The Traveling Little Black Dress Fashion Show & Luncheon, an annual spring fundraiser for the Seneca County House of Concern.
The creator of the show, Sharon Hoatland, brought the idea to the Board of Directors in 2012, with the first annual event being held in May of 2013. Since its inception, this annual event has been a significant fundraiser to keep the food pantry stocked and operational assisting those in Seneca County with food insecurity. It has exceeded a grand total of $60,000.00 in funding over five years.
The sixth annual fashion show and luncheon, titled The Traveling Little Black Dress… “goes Disco”, is traveling again and will be held on Friday, April 20th and Saturday, April 21st, 2018 at the Seneca Falls Country Club, 2790 State Route 89.
The fun will begin at 11:00 a.m. with raffles and shopping opportunities provided by local businesses. At 11:30 the doors will open, and attendees will be served lunch and treated to another delightful show. Every year the fashion show not only features models who are friends, business colleagues and neighbors, it highlights outfits and accessories from local retailers. And there is always some fun and shenanigans while the models “strut their stuff”.
Tickets for the event are open seating at $40.00 each. Save by purchasing two or more for $35.00 each. Reserved seating will be only for tables of 8 at $260.00 per table. Get your family, friends or co-workers together and reserve a table. In honor of del Lago Resort and Casino’s one year anniversary, a Savor del Lago event was held on Friday, February 2nd featuring a variety of Savor NY and Tasting Tuesdays vendors. All of the proceeds from this event were donated to the Seneca County House of Concern, which was the first charity recipient of del Lago’s monthly Tasting Tuesdays events in June of 2017.
