SF School District Food Drives

During Thanksgiving week two generous donations came in from the Seneca Falls School District who  recently held food drives to donate to our food pantry for local families in need.

The Seneca Falls Middle School held a can-drive the month before Thanksgiving on what they called Thankful Tuesdays. Each Tuesday had a different theme (Hat Day, PJ Day, build your own Sundae and a Movie Night) and in order to participate, students were encouraged to bring in a canned good to donate. 344 food items were dropped off at the food pantry Thanksgiving week.

Mynderse Academy (high school) held a separate can drive a week before Thanksgiving. Students were encouraged to bring in canned goods in a friendly competition between homerooms. On the Monday before Thanksgiving, members of the Student Council gathered all of the items (nearly 1000) for the food pantry.

Thank you to  the students, faculty, parents and all who donated for your commitment in giving to others in our community.
