A new handicap access ramp and front porch greet customers at the House of Concern Thrift Store and Food Pantry on State St. in Seneca Falls. The old ramp was torn down on Friday and immediately replaced with a new one using composite slats to allow the new one to stand up over time.
The replacement was accomplished quickly thanks to employees and volunteers. After they completed the work on Saturday, the workers did a bit of piano moving to rest up.
The HOC is also looking for volunteers to help with a new project which will install an insulated drop ceiling in the Thrift store to reduce the expense of heating the facility and improve the lighting. That project will be financed through grants from the Presbytery of Geneva and Seneca Meadows.
